23 Things... A summary of my thoughts
It has taken me almost a year to complete 23 things. I wish I could have done it continuously without stopping to do other work or to work on the public service desk. The different activites were a lot of fun, especially working with an online image generator and searching youtube. This program taught me about many new technological advances and how to use them. This is the future of libraries and it helped me become more familiar with wikis, blogs, podcasts, word processing, tagging and RSS feeds. Setting up a blog was fun and it allowed me to be creative. I wish my hard drive did not crash, since I lost a lot of the work I did over the last 9 months. I really liked the avitar that I created.
Podcasts
Here is some information that I received about birds from looking in these pet podcasts. What do you look for when choosing a pet bird? Find out what to look for from the experts! In these pet podcasts our host and guests discuss choosing a bird to fit your lifestyle, compare pet stores and breeders, and talk about how to keep your bird happy and healthy. Other topics include species of birds, your bird's habitat and which are the best foods to feed your little feathered friend! Find out what common household dangers you need to know about, as well as how to train your pet bird and more. In these fun pet podcasts, you'll find everything from taking your pet bird to the office to tips on what the best perches are to keep your bird's feet from getting tired or damaged. So take a beak, we mean peek at the world of pet birds
Downloadable audiobooks
Downloading audiobooks seems so simple on this tutorial. I wish we had a similar tutorial for our customers on downloading audios from our catalog. I have never tried downloading an audiobook but I receive many questions about it from customers. Sometimes if a book is in heavy demand, the quickest way to read a copy is to download it.
Discover You Tube
You tube is great for finding music and watching videos. I love the video about Lady Gaga and the Library.
